What if your appliance fails testing?

In most cases when a portable appliance fails a test it is easily repaired on site. Most appliances which fail only require a replacement fuse or plug or need to be rewired. Repairs of this nature are included in our price at no extra cost, we can perform more extensive repairs at your request, but for an additional charge.
If we find the appliance is unrepairable, it is labelled clearly as ‘failed’ and the plug is removed immediately in accordance with legal requirements. This is to ensure your safety and the safety of others by making it impossible to use. Our engineers will report any failed appliances to the customer immediately and provide a separate detailed failure report explaining why any appliances have failed and what further action we suggest you take.

What happens next?

When all portable appliances have been tested our engineers will return to our office and a report is compiled from your test results, this report will be sent to you in the post for your health and safety file. We will keep this report for 8 years. Digital and extra hard-copies of this can be ordered from us if necessary, any time within this 8 year period.
Once your report is received you are now compliant with the electrical Health and Safety at Work regulations.
